CHERUBIC FACES

A pilgrim looks at the paintings inside the Debre Berhan Selassie church in Gondar including 80 cherubic faces on the ceiling that have come to represent Ethiopian church art. The original circular church was destroyed by lightening and replaced with a rectangular church that was supposed to duplicate Solomon’s Temple in Jerusalem. 18 Jan 2018
